hahah understandable..this summer I'm (finally) going to vienna 6 days so I'm definitely going to visite "Schönbrunn" and everything :D!
The films with Romy Schneider aren't very accurate but I love them xD And when I was a little girl there was this cartoon series about her (even less accurate of course :PP)that's when I got interested in her life :P.

I'm so jealous! I would love can visit the Schöbrunn, see Viena, know more about Sissi!
I love the movies with Romy too, and I know the lack of veracity, as they tried to turn her life into a kind of fairy tale, and her life was definitely not a fairy tale. She was a girl so sad, and I have a huge compassion for her.

But tell me more about these comics, I never heard anything about her in comics. Do you still have those comics?

Well, I'm from Brazil, so, many of these cartoons were never published here... Today is different! Internet give us so much options and opportunities, but when the item is very old and rare, it's becomes a little odyssey to found it!

You know, the flowers is her hair are actually know as 'Sissi's Stars' and were diamond flowers, with the center's being pearls. She gave them to friends and favored ladies-in-waiting.
Sissi's obsession with her weight lead to her being diagnosed today with anorexia. She insisted on being sewn into her clothes to show off her waist, which she maintained at a TINY 18/20 inches.

She loved to ride, and write romantic poetry, as well as travel. She couldn't stand the Austrian capitol, Vienna and would be away as long as possible.

Gorgeous picture. You should do more of her.

Defiantly. Do you know the Royal Diaries series? They did a really good on on Sissi. If you can get it our of a library or something, then if might have some good references for you. Here: [link]

I really love Sissi too! She such a strong and complex character, to have survived everything that happened to her, all the sadness in her life.

I know so little about the Royal Diaries... I saw Cleopatra, Isabella of Castilha and one more episode that I don't remember now... But I didn't saw Sissi's yet. I'll search for it in youtube ;)
