Rose Dewitt Bukater

Rose Dewitt Bukater is a fictional character from the movie "Titanic", played by Kate Winslet.

This dress, also known as "jump dress", is my favorite from the movie (I love all the costumes, but this is stunning), and a excelent exemple of an evening dress from the 1910s decade, the end of Belle Èpoque.

Everyone knows the movie "Titanic", and therefore, know the basics of the sinking of the Titanic's tragedy.

In the movie, Rose is a high society girl who boards in the Titanic, when she meet and fall in love for Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a pauper artist who embarks on the ship to have luck with playing cards, contrary to the desire of her mother who wants to see her married to the wealthy and snobbish "Cal" Hockley (Billy Zane). The fate of everyone is sealed by the tragedy of the Titanic wreck, which happened in 1912.

Titanic won 14 Academy Awards (best movie and best costume design among them), became a real phenomenon, catapulting the career of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and is considered one of the best films in cinema's history.
