Ever since learning about her by way of Bettany Hughes (in her book on Helen of Troy), I have been fascinated by Puduhepa.

She (along with the likes of Queens Tiye, Moremi, Zenobia, Lakshmibai, Nzinga, among others) sounds awesome, especially since she was confident enough to chastise Ramses II with his demand that she send her daughter (and more importantly to him, a dowry) to his court with this jab, "Does my brother possess nothing at all? Only when the son of the Sun God, the son of the Storm God and the Sea have nothing do you have nothing, and yet my brother you seek to enrich yourself at my expense? That is worthy of neither your reputation nor your lordly status."

No mean feat, corresponding with a rival and even superior of your own country in such a cutting way. It's heroines like Queen Puduhepa who deserve coverage in history classes, not just men.
